GSM and Uptown 6 October Announce Strategic Partnership to Launch International K–12 School in West Cairo

Global School Management (GSM), a leading global operator of K–12 schools, has entered a strategic partnership with Uptown 6 October to launch a premier international school in West Cairo. The new campus is set to open its doors in September 2027 and will mark GSM’s flagship presence in Egypt.

Set within the heart of the Uptown 6 October urban development—a 400-acre, master-planned residential and commercial community—the school is designed to serve up to 1,680 students. The campus spans over 14,000 m² of land with more than 20,000 m² of built-up educational facilities, including 70 digitally enabled classrooms, state-of-the-art science and technology labs, performing arts studios, and sports complexes.

Backed by an investment exceeding EGP 1.3 billion (~USD 26 million), the partnership underscores a shared vision to transform access to high-quality international education in Egypt’s fastest-growing metropolitan corridor. The school will offer the British curriculum, adapted to local context, and complemented by character education and 21st-century learning strategies.

“This project isn’t just about education—it’s about future-building,” said Ahmed Abo Zeid, Co-Chairman of Uptown 6 October. “We’re developing a new benchmark for what private education can look like in integrated urban spaces.”

Ron Packard, GSM Founder and global education pioneer, described the launch as “a step toward ensuring families in Egypt can access the same level of international schooling found in London, Dubai, or New York. Our mission is to prepare students for a world that is both global and personal.”

With over 165 schools educating more than 45,000 students across the globe, GSM brings deep operational expertise and a commitment to pedagogical excellence. The Cairo school is part of GSM’s broader $200 million Middle East growth initiative, reinforcing its investment in the region’s educational future.

Shaun Robison, CEO of GSM Middle East, added: “This is not just another international school. It’s a purpose-built model for tomorrow’s learners—expansive, inclusive, and deeply rooted in community.”

As part of the Uptown 6 October masterplan, the school will act as a cultural and educational anchor for the broader development, which includes residential zones, retail centers, and lifestyle amenities. This partnership marks the beginning of a long-term educational collaboration between GSM and Uptown 6 October, with additional schools and educational initiatives under consideration.
